Moving from Surviving to Thriving

This program has been approved for 1 credit hour through HRCI and SHRM!

Topic Description:

For the past decade, we have understood that today’s organizations are struggling to adapt to the speed and complexity of change. Since 2020, those struggles have intensified as leaders found themselves in the unfamiliar territory as they met the ongoing uncertainty of a worldwide pandemic. This experience has created a need to revisit how they approach leadership.

Many companies and organizations are confronted with labor shortages, increased voluntary turnover, and lower employee engagement. Strategies that have been successful in the past are not working.  Change fatigue and burnout are now epidemic in the workforce today. More than ever before we are hearing how employees are coping by “quiet quitting”.

In this presentation we will explore the neuroscience of the brain and how leaders can utilize that understanding to identify new ways for managing change, building strong team relationships and achieving better results.

About the Speaker:

Evy Ellis, MS, ACC, BCC

Organization Development Consultant

Memorial Health

Evy Ellis has worked as a front line leader in health care and understands the challenges associated with inspiring and leading effective teams.  She has also served as an educator, consultant and coach.  Her primary areas of focus and passion have always been leading effective teams and colleague engagement.  She believes that when leaders develop relationships of trust, mutual respect, open, honest communication and provide consistent and visible support, great things happen.

As a consultant and coach, Evy supports leaders at all levels in the organization.  Her responsibilities include group facilitation, one-on-one coaching for new and existing leaders, and research and content development of emerging trends for leading effectively in the current environment.  She has spent most of her career in health care but looks for creative solutions and best practices from other industries as well.

Evy graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Organization Behavior and earned a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership from Benedictine University.  She is a lifelong learner and has continued her education through various certification programs.  Most recently, she became a certified coach through ICF, International Coaching Federation.
